Legal Experience

Don Minton is a former Texas District Court Judge who now represents clients both in and out of court on a wide array of matters including commercial litigation, entity formation and debt collection.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Minton’s practice areas included employment law, family law and white-collar crime, as well as providing all legal services necessary for launching tech start-ups. Mr. Minton just recently finished a nearly five-year stint as Chief Legal Officer of All American Lithium prior to acquisition of its intellectual property by Occidental Petroleum.

Mr. Minton received his Bachelor’s of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in the top ten percent of his class. He served as a tank platoon leader in the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment and ended his time in service in the USAR as a Captain in 2001. As a veteran with a service-connected disability, he remains active in veteran’s advocacy. Mr. Minton graduated from the University of Texas School of Law with Honors in 1996. Later, he secured his MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso, with a focus on organizational management.

He has been married to Lourdes Villa Minton, a Children’s Librarian at the Rosenberg Library, for 30 years and they have two adult children – Luke Minton who lives in Chicago and Claire Minton who lives in Los Angeles.
