Food product distribution is generally regulated by international, federal, state and local authorities. Liability issues arise regarding the handling, preparation and storage of food. Our clients occasionally receive allegations that they have handled food in ways that cause foodborne illness, food contamination and food poisoning.
Our team regularly defends large food manufacturers in their food liability needs such as recalls and large scale foodborne illness matters while also representing smaller manufacturers and restaurants as needs arise. We work closely with the Grocery Manufacturer’s Association laboratory team to obtain scientific answers. Furthermore, we have been on the GMA defense panel since 2007. Our firm is also a member of the National Restaurant and Retail Defense Association and frequently works with the National Restaurant Association.
